This is an very good condition late war "last ditch" issue example of the classic Type 92 Tetsubo ( "steel cap"), also colloquially called the tetsukabuto ( "steel helmet") by troops. Towards the very end of the war, thinner steel was used, as well as simplified liners and chin straps. The vent holes were also omitted to save production time, and simple split pins were used to attach the liner, instead of the riveted
